In celebration of the holidays, we’ll be taking a look at some of the classic Christmas Smoking ads that were once ubiquitous in pop culture. Cherished icons can be found in numerous smoking ads. Indeed, the tobacco industry has made every effort to associate itself with noble institutions, but we find the use of Santa Claus as the poster boy for cigarettes hilarious, sinister and also despicable. These type of ads ran prominently on tv, magazines, and billboards during the 1920s to the 1960s. This collection includes numerable examples of ads featuring jolly old Saint Nick puffing away on cigarettes. Please enjoy because nothing says the holidays like a pack of Marlboro’s.
