In the 1900s, magician Harry Kellar decided to take his marketing to the next level. He found that his shows sold better when he advertised them with stylistically daring posters of himself surrounded by demons and imps. Other posters included pulpy visions of levitation, hypnotic dream visions, wizardry, and even self-decapitation!
These images, as well as 850 rarely seen vintage posters, photographs, handbills, and engravings, can be found in the book Magic. 1400s-1950s
