A newly declassified Chilean UFO video hasn’t brought investigators any closer to understanding the two-year-old case. The video was recorded by a Chilean Navy helicopter along the coast between San Antonio and Quinteros back in 2014. Using infrared technology, the helicopter pinpointed an unknown aerial object at an altitude of 4,500 feet. Both the helicopter and the UFO appeared to be traveled at approximately 152 miles per hour.
Two Navy officers offered eyewitness testimony of the object, telling investigators that whatever it was, it had a “flat, elongated structure” with “two thermal spotlights like discharges that did not coincide with the axle of motion.”
The video is mysterious because the object appears to discharge a plume of hot material (picked up by heat-sensitive radars) at least twice. At the time of the sighting, radar stations were unable to identify the object
A branch of Chile’s aviation agency, the CEFAA, released a statement regarding their investigation: “Some analysts have suggested the hypothesis that it is a medium-sized line aircraft and that the stelae of the detachable element may be the reserve water inside the apparatus, thrown by the crew. However, meteorology asserts that neither the altitude at which the object moved, nor the ambient temperature of that moment, allowed such a wake of condensation.”
