Brain Activity Recorded 10 Minutes After Patient Declared Dead

Doctors in a Canadian intensive care unit claim that brain activity was recorded in a patient 10 minutes after his death in what has been described as an “unexplained case.” The patient, who was declared dead, continued to release delta wave bursts, which are usually present during deep sleep.

‘In one patient, single delta wave bursts persisted following the cessation of both the cardiac rhythm and arterial blood pressure (ABP),’ the researchers said.
